Artist's Statement

For as long as I can remember, I have found pleasure in art and the need for expression by building or creating things.   This need eventually became a satisfying career and livelihood in engineering.  Engineering, as a highly tamed art form, partially calls on the imagination to transform ideas into lines and shapes of functional forms.  However, the less structured realm would occasionally kick at the goads to remind me of a time long ago when lines and shapes met paper without the companionship of hard science.

Having exited the life stage of parenting, it seemed time should allow for revival of efforts against creative art.   The desire to capture and transform images and scenes of interesting daily life onto canvas grew from a whisper to a persistent voice that simply would not remain quiet.  The revival has been a satisfying outlet, and perhaps that is enough.

Self-taught and still learning / experimenting with the medium of oils, visitors to this virtual gallery will find initial works of this new and rediscovered journey.  My hope is that you will discover your own connections to the subject matters that initially attracted and drew me in.   Most of all, my very simple desire is that you enjoy!

Thank you for visiting and please enjoy!
